Panelists included Professor Lawrence Powell (Tulane University), Dr. Silas Lee (Dr. Silas Lee & Associates), Katherine Cecil (CecilFilm Productions), Tracie Washington  Esq (The Louisiana Justice Institute), and Donita Judge, Esq. (The Advancement Project).

The Bermuda International Film Festival

The YWCA’s Dialogue on Race Task Force Presents: “The 2010 Community Dialogue”

The DOR is a unique opportunity for women and men of diverse cultures to speak frankly and safely about racial issues while learning from each other about the repercussions of prejudice and institutional racism.

Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival

news-marthasOn August 13, RACE screened at the Katharine Cornell Theatre in Vineyard Haven at the 2010 Martha’s Vineyard African-American Film Festival (MVAAFF), and took home the HBO sponsored Best Documentary Award. RACE screened to a packed audience and was followed by very positive feedback and a Q & A with the film’s director. Saatchi & Saatchi “Nothing is Impossible” Producer’s Award

news-saatchiRACE was a finalist for the Saatchi & Saatchi sponsored “Nothing is Impossible” Producer’s Award at the MVAAFF, and Saatchi & Saatchi kindly invited all finalists to screen at their location in New York. The screening took place at Saatchi & Saatchi on Hudson Street to a packed crowd of the agency’s executives and employees, and followed by a Q & A session with director Katherine Cecil, interviewed by Executive Vice President and Deputy Director of Broadcast Production, Sheldon Levy.

Roxbury International Film Festival

news-roxburyEarlier in August, RACE premiered at The Roxbury International Film Festival (RIFF) in Boston, was well received at The Wentworth Technology Institute, garnering attention from The Boston Globe. Thank you to RIFF Producer Lisa Simmons, Programmer Terri Brown, and to Publicist Colette Greenstein for choosing RACE as part of its 2010 festival lineup.

Dillard University Sneak Preview

news-dillardThe New Orleans “Sneak Preview” of RACE took place February 23 at the Lawless Memorial Chapel, and was generously hosted by Dr. Gary Clark and the Dillard University Political Science Department. Thanks to the impressive volunteer efforts of Dillard students and to advance coverage of the event by local media stations WBOK, WWL-TV, and WLAE-TV, over 600 people filled the venue, which was followed by a panel discussion and lively Q & A.  Tribune Review
